Starr said, “Well, there’s the Hollywood Bowl, Shea, what else is there? We didn’t even get the last concert in San Francisco. We didn’t film it.” When asked specifically about Let it Be, the drummer said, “I think that’s also a possibility. One day that will come out. I’d forgotten that one though.” Starr and the 13th edition of his All Starr Band will kick off a summer tour on June 14 and 15 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The tour runs through July 21 in Los Angeles.

A rare photograph of the Beatles walking in the opposite direction across the famous Abbey Road pedestrian crossing will be sold at auction this Tuesday, May 22, UK’s The Guardian reports. The photo on the Abbey Road album cover, taken by the late Iain MacMillan, shows the Fab Four crossing the street from left to right, but the shot being sold features the four walking from right to left and has Paul McCartney wearing sandals and the cigarette he is holding in the original album cover shot is either missing or hidden.

Note that is in the Bloomsbury Auction flyer: Iain Macmillan (1938-2006) Abbey Road, 1969 Chromogenic print, printed later, signed and editioned 3/25 in silver pen in the margin, 46.4 x 45.7cm (18 1/4 x 18in)
“That photo’s been called an icon of the 1960s, I suppose it is. I think the reason it became so popular is its simplicity. It’s a very simple, stylised shot. Also it’s a shot people can relate to. It’s a place where people can still walk.” Iain MacMillan, 1989
One of music photography’s most known images, the idea was conceived by Paul McCartney who drew a sketch of exactly how he wanted the cover to be. MacMillan was given ten minutes to shoot the photograph and he managed to get six shots. The photograph offered in this lot is frame two.

est. £7000 – £9000
